I’m watching you

Last summer, I was bored one day, so I decided to play Tetris Effect again and wanted to use a Super Ultra Sexy Funtime Mod. At the time, I didn't want to use Vortex; I just didn't want to deal with the launcher. Instead, I ended up browsing some weird offshoot mod sites that had a lot of stolen mods, and I downloaded a Ultra Evil Satan Mod.

I downloaded all of the Ultra Evil Satan files, and I received a warning that this file might be dangerous, so Chrome blocked it. I decided to click 'Keep Dangerous File.' I put all of the mods in Tetris Effect, set it up, and played Ultra Evil Satan Tetris.

Lines of blocks after blocks, vanished like the sands of time. Before I knew it, I have spent two weeks straight playing Ultra Evil Satan Tetris Mod. During those two weeks, I received an email that simply said, 'I’m watching you.' I didn’t even click on it; I just blocked the sender. A week later, I got another email mentioning five different sites I had recently visited.

'What the fuck could it be?' I decided to run a Windows Defender virus check, and it discovered a couple of files. Then those files were deleted, and I removed all of the JAR files. I completely uninstalled the Ultra Evil Satan Mod.

I received a message from one of my friends on Discord asking if I was okay. I told him the whole story, and he said it was very strange.

A week later, I received another email that said, 'You thought you could delete me.'

I actually felt like I was having a panic attack, so I decided to completely wipe everything off my computer and do a fresh reinstall. This took me a total of three days. I later explained the whole situation again to my friend on Discord.

He said, 'Wow, that is terrifying! It's good you got that fixed.'

2 weeks later, I received an email titled, 'I'm still here. You think you could get off this easily?' The email contained great detail about my life, the websites I visit, what I do on my computer, and included screenshots.

New 3:43 p.m. I was actually panicking, and while using my phone, I messaged my friend to explain how my computer was completely compromised and that everything I did could be seen by someone who was sending me these emails. He then said, 'Bro, it's just a prank; it's me.'

In absolute shock, I stood there and thought, 'That makes sense.' At the same time, I was actually so pissed off that I could not believe how angry I was, at the same time I also felt a sense of relief.

I was on a call with him for 3 hours; he was laughing hysterically while I was fucking livid that I used some very colorful language. After about 40 minutes, I could see how it was funny, and I admitted that it was a good prank. However, I would say that it should never be done again. Except for when I did this recently.
