Here is a song that, far more now than when I first wrote it, carries a lot more meaning to me.
For as long as I've remembered, the dear Phyrnna has been probably my most everlasting source of inspiration here. It started when I played Shrink It in elementary school on ABCYA (gosh those days are growing distant), burned with passion when I played EBF5 the battle demo for all Summer 2018, helped me discover my own musicality, and even now, as an 18-year old college student who just wrote a breakout song on Newgrounds and is dreaming to break into the anime scene, she remains my #1 source of inspiration.
Some of the hardest times of my life I have turned to her music and felt a spark that's helped me carry on. She has been a light in the darkness of destruction for me, just like a lot of other composers here (including my own friend Troisnyx).
Yet in her own life, quite a bit has happened too. As I'm sure a lot of you noticed, she seemed to fall of the Internet for about 2 years. I hadn't seen her upload a new song since The Desolate Stand way back in 2022, and by the time this year rolled around, I got a bit worried someone so iconic had just gone away for so long. That is until I joined BlueSky, and I noticed she was posting a little more. This made me feel happy.
Come 2024/11/30, I had just gotten back from my Thanksgiving and I read this: https://bsky.app/profile/phyrnna.com/post/3lc7td5w7eu2s. The hardest post I've ever had to read, especially given where I was at mentally then. Don't even ask me about this, just read it for yourself. So much of what I thought I knew was utterly dismantled, like a period of my life was gone. Yet so much became clear too, like Christmas lights on a dark Winter night. Above all, I am just supremely glad she is doing okay. It is one of the best Christmas gifts I could ever wish for.
Tomorrow is her birthday, based on a post Kupo made. She will be turning 36 and I want to wish her the happiest birthday she can have. I ask all of you who read this and are Phyrnna fans to share this song and anything you've done in tribute to her, whether fanart, music, even just a thank you note, on your own pages. I'll look at them and share them to her.
I wrote this back in June, but now is the time to share it. I hope Phyrnna enjoys it. That's all that matters to me.
With that, here is my song.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
