HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
Composition: Belthagor
Sound design: Saltbearer
The original MIDI data provided by Belthagor is being fed to one MultiSynth, which branches to three other MultiSynths, which, via velocity curves mapped to keys, sort notes to three instruments (with some overlap).
While the low-range instrument is active, through feedback modules into amplitude-to-parameter conversion, the top-level MultiSynth's velocity is raised.
The three instruments are fed to a global reverb. While the dry signal remains above a certain amplitude threshold, the reverb freezes and builds up.
The global dry signal before the reverb branches to three bandpass filters, each of which is connected to a pitch detector, in turn connected to a flute-like synth. The pitch detectors output notes based on the dominant frequencies they read... rather lazily gliding between them, in this case. The flutey synths are muted for the first ~40 seconds, then are fed directly to the reverb. From that point, there is also an additional branch off of the reverb to create some subtle, textured noise.
You may only use this piece for commercial purposes if your work is a web-based game or animation, otherwise you must make specific arrangements with the artist.
