Instead of using compression I use EQ filters on different parts and automation clips for them to come out with the sound I want to use. Something like from Fab Filter for having EQ Maps. Audacity has an EQ plugin to manipulate through all the different frequencies to adjust sound. FL Studio comes with Paramatic EQ 2 and 1, each do different things. Turn the percussion and bass up, chop down the high frequencies that makes anyone have tinnitus.

hardly sounds orchestrated.

As much as I deeply love the original track in the game, you don't seem to have the right blend with this. This sounds way to computer addled to be considered an orchestral version, not to mention that it sounds a bit too tinny. I am sitting through a lot of remixes today and, I'm sad to say, but this is the weakest thus far. Try to improve your skills on composition and find a decent compressor.

It's cool.

I don't quite think that it has the same feel as the actual game BGM what with it having epic organs doing the entire song. I mean, that I wasn't so totally overwhelmed by it; it has a lighter feel though, and is almost as sad/solemn/that emo-tastic stuff.

Though I'm thinking it lacks that hardcore aftermath feel considering that it is an orchestral remake.

I like what you did with the song but it feels a little top heavy, I can't seem to find my self totally engrossed by it but there are moments when I'm loving it.
