sounds like an intro to a sad movie or a sad ending

FairSquare responds:

Thanks!

Yeah, I definitely hear a bit of clipping....

in the left speaker.

I noticed you used a minor Ist instead of a minor 4th as your base chord. This isn't because of what I said, is it? Cuz I would hate for that to be the case. I was just making a comment about how you separate yourself from the pack.

Also, excellent drumbeat, as always.

Things I would do personally are these:

- I noticed that the piano bassline and the low piano melody were generally on the same octave. I would separate them by one octave to keep them from blending together.

- The section around 1:19 has some powerful strings. I personally would have saved them for the last section for the big big finish.

Other than those, this song is pretty damn good. I like it alot. And I'll be adding it to my favorites. Good job MH16!

FairSquare responds:

No, it's not because of what you said.
I don't even know what minor and major is :P
Oh, and look out for tuesday, i'm releasing a new song then and i think it's pretty cool :D
Thanks for the review!

Hmmm...

This song isn't to bad, I don't why I'm not enjoying this as much as your other stuff...I must not feel well. I am definitely starting to memorize your style of progressions though, which might be the reason why I don't feel to surprised when I hear this piece. A lot of elements are the same, the same drum samples (just a little fx and filter work on fills and what not could totally remake the song.) Those samples are undeniably good though, so I have nothing against that, just try unique'ing them more...I guess?

Something that I noticed first time around that really scared me was the static in the intro and at points throughout the song. I hope to everything holy that my speakers aren't blown or something, and I hope that it is clippings or something coming from your song. If that is the case you can always just turn down the volume or use some compressors/limiters, no big deal just a simple quick fix. I say this all the time but I will say it again, let your listeners be the ones to turn up the volume. Don't ruin your song's quality by turning the volume way up. A little short but overall this was an enjoyable piece. I just wasn't feeling this one and I blame that on myself for listening to too much hardcore music [hangs my head in shame] Hopefully I will be better soon and equiped with a more attentive ear. Nice job none the less, try encorporating different progression style and working with different tempos, you might be able to get some different feels of classical music.

You really give a lot of good advice and i'll work on everything you said. Not in this track though, this one is closed for any further editing :P
Once again, thanks for the review!

Great! But still the same.

This song was great, but the intro was lacking, I think it needs more notes. Too much empty space between at the beginning. After that, it goes uphill, and I loved it! Drums, a nice (but unmemorable) tune, awesome accompaniment!
The strings were beautiful, and the piano really made this sound great. At the part at 1:26 really didn't fit my musical taste, but after that part, it was pretty awesome! Another great song!

I knew I had to tell you this, and I really don't want to, but I really have to.

Your songs are great, but now, they're kind of samey. Sure there are different tunes, different beats, and different instruments, but they all follow a similar code. I'm sorry, but its beginning to bore me a bit. I usually don't bother to check out you're songs till I'm really bored, unlike before, when I'd always check 'em out when I could. Sorry man, but it just is.

I mean, you've done rock, jazz, classical, D&B,and I love those songs, but in a way, I've found them to sound a little too familiar. Your songs kind of sound like you just play on a keyboard, find a random tune and record it and put it into a song. Not very professional, and there isn't much structure to your songs; they sound a bit randomish.

I STILL LOVE YOUR SONGS! I just want to hear a song thats just SO completely different from your normal work. It doesn't really matter what instruments you use, you can just use the instruments you normally use, but have structure, and make it sound like it was recorded in a concert hall. Make it sound like it was written in sheet music. You are one of the greatest audio artists on the internet, and I know you can do it.

STILL AN AWESOME SONG

FairSquare responds:

Hmmm, you make a good point here, but you must understand that it's very hard for me to make a song that's not in my style. I mean, i only make songs for like 6-7 months now, so it isn't easy to just jump into a whole different style of making music.
I'm still going to try it though, i'm really going to try it. I will release one more track in my style after this song (because i'm already working on it) and after that, i'm going to do the best i can.
Thanks for reviewing and being honest, i really appreciate it.
