I decided to try my hand at creating a Trance piece, and this is what I came up with.

No doubt there's much room for improvement, but I only ever attempted one other Trance peice before this and got nowhere near to finishing it, so I think this isn't bad for my first try.

Made with Ableton Live 8.0.1, T-Racks and Adobe Soundbooth.

NOTE: I applied a hard limit filter on this as it was too quiet beforehand, even after normalization. If you download and play it back, I recommend using mild EQ settings or none at all, but that's entirely your preference of course.
