this is real cool dude
real nice square sounds going on.
the beats are real cool dude. I really enjoy the bubbly melody. The excessive reverb and delay sound real awesome. I has some nice gated effects applied to it. Overall real decent dude! :D
*For my good friend; Ralph Cole. *
This is part of my "A Collection of Shorts" Album.
All songs on the album were made in class, in under 90 minutes.
Beware, the song starts out simple, but it develops very quickly and goes from what one might see as an ordinary song, to a song bouncing with life.
I wrote a poem to go along with the song as well;
"A Dust Shaped Man."
Focus on a man.
The single man in the universe;
His two feet firmly placed in their rightful residence.
His neatly buttoned shirt, and loosely collared coat, worn with no emotion.
His pale skin, green eyes, and simple determined complexion speak without words.
He watches his vast landscape; still.
Empty.
Devoid of life, a single observation.
A warm peaceful quiet and timid stillness.
A silence so vivid, so triumphant;
One's senses could not comprehend.
He is humbled by this presence, by this uninterpreted truth.
This is the wisdom he seeks.
He see's nothing but himself, quiet, and understanding.
True to his image;
True to his being.
If only...
This is not his reality, not his truth.
His silence is broken by the epilogue he calls life.
His calm flowing landscape, filled with fragmented distortions.
His trust, his simple structure, shattered by blunt, meaningless experiences.
Misfigured and aged, an old face.
The same old face.
The same old face that has always been... No longer!
It is time to change;
It is time to change!
Leave behind, this old dust shaped man.
Because now, it is time to change.
Enjoy!
Rate and Review, my friends, and I'll do the same for you.
Sincerely,
Aaron.

Thanks, yeah, with the limited time frame it seems a bit sloppy, but I thought it was fun!! Haha
I'm glad you liked it, overall I think it was a very interesting tune to make.
breath of life
first off the synth here was kinda cool, sounded like a square with a noise osc. it was kinda breathy, good work here. your high end drums sounded high passed, and really weak, but this piece did not call for it to be so strong, i think the main synth filled up that space in the spectrum well. i wasnt a fan of those tom like drums you had. but good work on getting them to cut through the mix. cool harmony at 1:31.
at 1:55 i felt your effect was a little sloppy, i think it should be gated so that the sound cuts out on the tempo at like 16beats for the gate. and it would be a cool effect to make those pan left and right upon each gated section
this was well mixed and a hella great song for 90 minutes
good ending
Thank you very much :). You're one of the few people who actually reads the Author Comments before leaving a review on a song haha. Yeah it was tough to get the mixing to be top notch without the time to do it. Usually I spend 20+ hours on each song, but 90 minutes is basically a mad rush to get anything done. Though it really teaches you a lot about music production, and teaches you to not throw out your ideas once you've got them down. I used to just throw away melodies if they weren't perfect. Editing is a wonderful thing...
Anyways, thank you for taking your time to review the track,
I quite enjoy constructive criticism, it really helps.
