[Custom Track] Fruitless Dream

Author Comments

A simple and driving boss fight song for your listening pleasure, or for your aesthetic use in a project or something.

The title refers to fighting a bad-dude who isn't so much evil, but who is in your way towards the final boss encounters. He/She is following his/her dreams, but because you have to defeat him/her, his/her dreams are pretty much fruitless.

Enjoy.

I like it.

I like this a lot, but I think it can be improved in various ways.

There is a lot of changing of instruments near the end that lost me.
I also think the strings were introduced really strangely, and I'm not the biggest fan of the particular sound used for them.

What I liked a lot, was the drums, the bassline, and the melodies, especially the piano melo that starts at 00:53 :D

Sorry I couldn't elaborate, I'm extremely tired as I've been up all night.

Overall I liked this a lot.

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

Yeah, a lot is going on at the end, and perhaps I should have eased them in more gradually. Though I thank you for your input.

I used the strings for essentially harmony parts and little else, and I suppose I experimented a little with harmony, accounting for the weirdness. Thank you for the review!

hum

some of the notes sound confused at the end... as do the drums... mostly down to timing I think...

EmperorCharlemagne responds:

Yeah, I suppose the drum part is a bit off when it gets to about 1:14, because the beat turns to sixteenth notes...

But I am not sure what you mean by notes sounding confused.

Thank you for the input though.
