I find that i only work on songs when im pissed any more.. so this has not turned out the way i wanted it to.
but this is going to have to do for now...
I tried to make a song that would make you feel like a kid, and right after waking from a dream you wish it could continue, but you are back to reality and your boring crappy life.

I don't see how this song I about what you described. The whole thing seems upbeat and like a dream. But i suppose that's what you meant by it not turning out the way you had planned. But it's still pretty good.
Maybe you could change the scale to something darker around the end but you know... keep the same melody pattern. It might be a little shaky sounding though.
