I need to practice my french
I'm catching phrases, I wish I could understand more. It sounds good even without understanding the lyrics though :)
That phrase "Le bonheur c'est d'avoir connu pire" is excellent, it's gonna stick with me.

In summary it is a song about what people do for drugs, or what do make them to do, depending the point of view.
There is a proverb in french who say: "Le bonheur c'est d'avoir connu pire".
Free translation: the happiness is to have know worse. That is where in begin write theses lyrics. Sometime what we think to be a good solution to a bad problem is not and it sometime ends in worse situation. When things are bad is like a spiral.
