Hey, thats sounds like my sunday mornings. ;-)
Very good riffs! 1a
DISCLAIMER: If you're listening with headphones, watch out. The guitar is very ice-pick sounding with lots of high frequencies. I had no knowledge of post-production eq'ing at the time, lol.
I recorded this one a good while ago, as you can see from the title date. I actually never released it on my music myspace or anything like that, so not many people have really heard it, which is why i figured i'd post it here.
The way i recorded this track: I pretty much mic'ed my guitar amp with an sm57 into a preamp into my sound card. I had compression on the guitar, and in Cakewalk, i created an effect send that had reverb on it, and panned it to the right, with the guitar panned left, to create a depth in the stereo field. I then messed around with some software synth (i think it was sugarbytes unique?) and added synth here and there. Added some extra guitars and such. The synth melody at the end, i was going for a moch-up of the final fantasy theme (i think from VII) but since i haven't heard it in such a long time i'm not sure how much it actually sounds like it. Now i wasn't exactly trying to mimic the melody either, but i did acknowledge the resemblance and decided to go with it.
Overall i remember that this was fun to make. It's probably a bit long for most of your tastes, but i think it's worth the wait to get to the end. I do apologize for the very end and how long the discordant synth drags out; it even annoys me, so i'm sure it will get to you all. Anyway, like always, i'd really love if i got some reviews on this or any of my other submissions; any kind of feedback welcome!
