This piece is the first example of what I'm calling glitch metal, a fusion of lo-fi electronic music and metal.

It's rough, but for laying down ideas I think it gets the point across. It may seem somewhat disjointed, and that's okay with me.

Mastering is probably leaving a bit to be desired, did it on a poor setup.

Transitions are rough, but this is primarily an idea piece rather than a finished project.

Feedback, bitte.

Not something that I would listen to

I personally like many genres of metal, but this isn't something that I would personally listen to. It did have a very good video game feeling to it and I feel that it could be used in a lot of video games. Those old fashion video games where it could be used during the menu/credits. It may even be alright for gameplay itself, but the menu/credits is what I think about when listening to this. Pretty good sound all around to it though. Enjoyed the video game feeling it had.

8-bitastic

===============
Score: 9 / 10
Summary: 8-bitastic
Review: I love the 8-bit sounds. And I might sound like I'm ripping of Haggard, but I also love heavy metal. THis is a nice combination of the two.

This is easily one of the better tracks I've heard today. And I've heard quite a few. I love the composition, the catchy melody, and the simple originality of it. It's not something I've heard a thousand times before. At times it sounded out of place, as if the harmonies weren't spot on, but this is one of the coolest genre-clashes I've heard.

Transitions were okay, but they came a little sudden on me, so I'd suggest you try to fix that. I personally prefer the first part of the song, but I guess that's just depending on what kind of music people like.

Nice piece!

Thanks for the review. I really want to come back to this style at some point.

Really original!

I enjoyed this quite a bit. The sounds don't harmonize perfectly, but it's an awesome start and very, very original. I never even thought 8-bit could get anywhere close to heavy metal, but you have achieved it, and very well too.

The melody was quite catchy, epecially the beginning, when the guitar came i, and the second part was pretty awesome. A small problem in my opinion is that the melody jumped around from high to low notes a little and that there are no proper drums present (PM me if you want an 8-bit drum and effect set.)

The beginning was quite cool, and the fade ending was pretty cool too. The transitions, as you said, need some fixing, especially the one at 1:08, though.

Still, it's an awesome song, and the combination of two competely different genres like these really impressed me. Keep up the great work!!

I think this can go somewhere.

Drums are still something i'm working on synthesizing. I think they're coming along.

Like i've said, the stuff after 1:08 is where I really want to go with it, heavy rhythm guitar with synth (and eventually guitar) leads over it.

Your input is appreciated.

Not enough Heavy Metal

I like 8-bit tunes.
I like Heavy Metal.

So this song is a pure win for me. But I like Heavy Metal more than 8-bit and this is filed under Heavy Metal. So I agree with some of the other reviewers who said that there should be more Metal in it.

The tune itself is very nice and I like the melodies and beats you created. I liked the second part (at 1:10) better, because the contrast of the heavy guitar and the kinda lightweight sounding 8-bit tunes is very interesting.

Thank you for the review.

I also am a fan of the second part, and when I get around to visiting this style again, that's the approach I'm going to take. Eventually the guitar will also take solos, they just need to be written.

Interesting..

The 8-bit beat thing is really kinda annoying..Too much vibrato or something...Not sure about the musical jargon, but it bugged me.

To be honest, this was too much of a Video Game song to be filed under Heavy Metal. I could recognise bits of heavy metal in there, but the instruments were too electronic to be metal..That said, I like how you've tried to combine two very contrasting genres. It creates an original and interesting effect. The metal bits of it are the best parts, in my opinion.

The thing that bugged me the most is that at 1:08, the melody changed completely, and felt like a completely different song...

loansindi responds:

I'm curious exactly what it was that bothered you about the electronic aspects.

Regarding the disjointedness, it's because this is basically two different approaches to the genre that were stuck together. It's still a nascent project.

Thank you for the review.
