If one word could describe the past year for me, it would be change. I have experienced the loss of dear friends as well as the joy of gaining new ones. For the first time in years, I've shed tears in the midst of deep crisis. Yet I also have been blessed with the most joyful and memorable times I can remember. It has been one of the most difficult parts of my life as well as the most rewarding.

This song represents all that has occurred in the last year; the indescribable joys, the heart-torn sorrows, and the change that has placed me in this new phase of my life. I'm still a kid, and I'm still figuring out who I am, what I want to do with my life. I feel kind of like I'm...Drifting.

Thank you for listening, and enjoy the song. :)
~Trevor Crookston (BlazingDragon)

Note: This song was made using EWQLSO and FL Studio. It is my longest composition to date.

Edit: There is a strong static noise that appears a little before the two minute mark. I'd edit it out, but I lost the original project file. Sorry!

BlazingDragon responds:

Isn't it amazing how much music can console you in a time of sorrow? Listening (or composing) serves as a great emotional catharsis.

Thanks for listening to this piece and reviewing. Best wishes regarding your situation!

the song sounds sad n full of joy mixed together

when i listen to this song it makes me think back in my life of all the fun i had and all the difficult things i did n the feeling is good but also hurts alil but in a good way u kno but over all i love this song because it really speaks to u and makes u rememberall the good and the bad for that man i give u my respect great job on the song

BlazingDragon responds:

Difficult experiences illuminate the joy in life. Their contrast brings out the brilliance in joy that we may never have taken notice to, and they enhance our sensitivity to life and empathy to pain.

Pain, as well as joy, contributes to the whole of the human experience. And that is beautiful.

Beautiful...

This is one of the most amazing pieces i've ever heard, professional or otherwise. it's absolutely amazing, and it tugs on my heartstring more to know the origin of the song, since i've been going through the exact same thing. I've been moved to tears by this, and I don't cry easily. good job my friend, and love life.

BlazingDragon responds:

Magic lies in the study of music history. You can listen to a piece of music and acknowledge its beauty...but when you discover that the composer's wife and children died and that he lost everything he owned and loved and that, despite all that, he continued to create music to express hope and inspire others...then, the music transcends organized sounds. It becomes humanity.

Captured the essence.

You are an amazing person. You show your human side that a lot of artists don't. Just being on newgrounds and creating works like this? That's unheard of, let alone to do it for fun, even more unheard of to do it for free. You have earned my respect many times over, and may your life be just as amazing as your works. You really built this song up, the sounds at 2:22 are awesome then you built it up and up and up then bang and pull it back. But you do it gracefully. Well done.

BlazingDragon responds:

Composing music is how I express my emotions. If I didn't compose, it would be like a part of me was missing, or as though I lost my voice. It is more than an art form- it is the soul of humanity made tangible.

Thanks for the awesome comment, and God bless.

Prepare yourself.

If I could punch you in the face and somehow absorb your talent, I would do so with such ferocity that both time and space would meld together into a singularity at the point of impact.

I love your music.

Bravo, Sir. Bravo.

BlazingDragon responds:

I have to say, this is the most memorable review I have EVER received. It's on my facebook quotes! Thanks for making my day, several times over.
