Backwards formula-- fuzz on the bass and clean guitars.

It's repetitive because this is an "instrumental version for a song with vocals".

Good song

A very diversified with elements from quite a few genres, it seems. I especially like the ska-like riffs you have in here, they sound very good together with the drums.

The bass is a bit too low here, the drums sound very weak.

Towards the end the track loses a bit of it's originality, maybe it's because there are no vocals in here (just like you said in the author comments). Maybe a few soli from various instruments would help, but then it wouldn't be a "instrumental for a song with vocals" anymore.

Sawdust responds:

I don't listen to any ska, but I assume that that's a good thing seeing how you saw it in a positive light. Also I should've probably thrown in a solo at the end, like a sudden shift to heavy metal, with like bells tolling and a sample of Roger Daltrey going YEAH and the most ungodly succession of arpeggios I could fathom.

Well worked

Not bad, but a little fragmented in places - I'm not a fan of the speed metal style drum-cymbal combinations, that you threw in here. If you're going to do that, go the whole nine yards and we can hear a piece of proper metal. Otherwise go and sort something out with slowing the drums down a little in that part, so that it transists nicely.

I think that there's certainly hope for this piece. There needs to be vocals for this, otherwise it just seems like a jam session, so taking it a little further, we can see if there's bits in there that need to be brought forth and encouraged. I think that as a result of this, you do need to come forward with the guitars and let them come to fruition. The bass or rhythm (I can't decide) needs to be louder, as it gets drowned out by the lead and the drums combined.

Sawdust responds:

Alright. I'll write whimsical metal lyrics and sing in my most Dickinson like voice if I'm in the mood to embarrass myself. And yeah, the bass could be on the louder side I reckon.

Great beat

This actually sounds quite nice without the lyrics or vocals included in it. You just kind of have that feeling you're in an empty place and so you just decide to take whatever you want since no one is going to do anything about it.

Guitar: Like how its a Fuzz box effect used here, intro it has a pretty nice little solo sound it I think. It sounds nice the whole time? Are you playing all the instruments or what?

Bass: Simple and classy back beat to make it sound nice for the main rhythm, sounds awesome.

Drums: Really nice and simple drum beat here, actually not all that bad, wouldn't mind learning it.

Overall: Very nice piece, really enjoy how it feels.

Sawdust responds:

Thanks. Well appreciated, though to be honest I didn't play a single thing here, I did however write everything. None of that loop tomfoolery.
