Okay, so I know most of my stuff hasn't received too much recognition. But, that's okay. I know this is video game and animation music, but my hope is I can record something you really like so that you can use it in a movie or game, or download it and jive to it.
So this is a new incarnation of an older song, and this will probably be it's final arrangement. I was very pleased with this, with my only complaint being the drums (and the solo could be better). Maybe in time, or with some patience, I can redo it. Also it's not EQ'ed "perfect" but sooo much better than older stuff. I'm learning! =)
Original in D, this one in C#. It's just sinister, and sexy. my personal ratings... 8.5/10 (Only because of the drum issues). It's hard to give a striving professional musician his own opinion so high, but I'm very thrilled with it.
Final note. Aim Fist Amethyst no longer exists, it is now Dawn After Ashes (hence the ~DAA~). It represents more of who I represent, which is Christ. And, no matter what happens in life, no matter the storm, the sun will ALWAYS shine again!

not bad, i like what you've got here. your tone is very raw, which is something of a double-edged sword in this case - while the rhythm is chugging and brutal, it kind of muffles your leads. still, i really like the riffs, great playing. the piano seems a bit inappropriate in my opinion, but it's still pretty cool, and adds to the variation. while unpolished, the solo is quite enjoyable as well. great job all in all, keep up the good work!
Thanks. Yea like I said not got EQ'ing down perfect yet, working on it though! You have to really know what you're doing and what you want in Audacity because you can't playback while EQing... waiting to get Pro Tools, then we'll be in gear!

and i can see where you would think that your solo was not enough but it was still great along with the drums... but i was wondering how did u record ur guitar so clearly if it was real that is, i have been using audacity and a rockband mic so lol yeah any help would be appreciated.
Equipment I use is Ibanez RG2EX1, into Boss Chromatic Tuner, into Line6 Uber Metal Distortion, into Fender Cyber Champ amplifier (yeah a very metal amp eh? lol. Gets the job done) I have all that set up through a clean channel I've worked my butt off on setting. From there I direct-line in (which I don't recommend unless you can't help it) into a Behringer UCA222 USB Audio interface, from there it is set to record in Audacity. When I recorded the tracks (drums and guitars) I used the compressor feature, it makes a world of difference otherwise listen to my other tracks and hear how trebley not compressing the guitar sound, and I use the regular settings (because I don't understand the settings quite yet).
