imogen's room becomes a living painting of creatures and monsters.
bathed in an eerie dimness it takes on ghoulish forms.

imogen saw

on the wall
a bear climbing a mountain, quite tall
it has no peak, and so he goes up
never reaching the top at all

on the door
the shaggy outline of a wild boar
was it looking at her, or away, she wasn't sure
it scared her to look, but she looked
more and more

on the drawers
a murder of crows, she could almost hear them squawk
they appeared to fly, but made no motion
she cannot drive out the imagined commotion

on the ceiling
the manifestation of uncomfortable feeling
she was sure that soon it would swiftly descend
upon her bed, and her nightlight would end
