It's your second one, and you make me believe you got enough potential to get very good writing songs.

I found it a little bit repetitive, but you're able to make good beats and melodies, when it's repetitive you can put some FM / filters frequency and resonance / Feedback / or whatever. Try Reason4 if you never did, it's what I use, you write your own loops and get the sound you want. There is a lot of possibilities with this program, i'm still learning a lot about it.
