Yeah those two parts 0:51, 1:39, do sound empty. It sounds weird because I think it could use some harmonification(it's that a real word..) and probably some bass switch up to go with it, and possibly a drum switch up.
But, I do think it's a great song.

I can feel this, I like the instrument and the composition. I think it's great, my only opinion would be to diversify the percussion a bit. The snare hit is a bit "hollow" sounding, and the part that repeats at 2:25 feels like it's just missing something small, I don't know. Maybe a different bass/snare combo. But overall, it's a really great piece that I can see someone singing or rapping over.

Thanks man. I originally had this as a beat for a remix of Mathematics by Mos Def, but I don't think I can upload stuff like that. I would try rapping too, but I don't have recording equipment at the moment haha.
