When you're in college you do a lot of thinking about your future and what you're going to do with your life. Sometimes I'm pessimistic about the future (although I'm not at the moment :)) and I worry that doing what I want to do will be a struggle. This song is about not following in your parents' footsteps and trying to find a place that you fit in, even if you have to make it yourself.
