haha! I'm diggin' this.
I love the sounds! You gotta finish this!
Okay, so this is something I started and eventually gave up on about a week ago... it was an attempt to do a remix of the song Laugh At Life by Renard Queenston, or one of his pseudonyms, Jackal Queenston or Mayhem or -both-, honestly I'm not 100% sure how it is... the original song I used as a base can be found at the link below and it sounds like a jillion times better than what I tried pulling off. just take the space out wherever the system puts one in...

Anyway, yeah, I fucking love this song, so before I came up with a tune for Souls Have No Ginger, I tried to do a remix of this in 8 bit-- I still think that if I could've done it, it would've sounded awesome. I kind of hit a wall when I got to the part at around... 0:40 in the video, with that friggin' synth solo thing, because I had no idea how to emulate that in 8 bit and it was way too hard to try and go through the song second by second and try and imitate that flurrying clusterfuck of notes. So I gave up for now-- maybe I'll pick it up again when I feel confident enough to give that thing a shot again. But for now, here's what I actually managed doing. it doesn't sound the exact same because I didn't do the minute tweaks to make it so, and I was sick of putting in all the effort, but it still sounds pretty good imo.
I don't really care if anyone rates or comments on this thing too much; Busy Not Caring and Souls Have No Ginger are a better show of what I can do in FamiTracker presently. So if you like 8 bit but were like BLUH THIS WAS A SONG ORIGINALLY BY A FURRY BURN IT (which by the way is a stupid reason to hate music) or BLUH THIS IS SHORT AND BORING, just look at my other crap. I know that's kind of shameless self-plugging but this isn't the best example of my work and I'd rather not be judged by it.
So bluh bluh I'll shut up now.

Ah man, I love how this sounds too, but I just don't think I'm at the ear-reading(?) level to attempt to imitate that stupid solo synth without killing my confidence outright... I'll try and come back to it eventually, though.
Please contact me if you would like to use this in a project. We can discuss the details.
