This is a sketchout of a painting at my house that I really like, so I put music to it. I am in a bit of a creative rut right now, so this is all I have.

some advice

First off let me just say I don't know it all and I never will. Now that that is out of the way.

The piece has some true musicality hidden inside it, but I'll be honest, It is feeling a little forced. You mentioned being in a musical rut. I have found when I am in a musical rut it is best to not pressure yourself to write. Just play and practice. If you really feel the need to write then dig deep and find something important inside that you can latch onto. Forgive my two-cents, I have nothing but respect for music. I really wish I could see the painting, by the way!
