This is the soundtrack for a videogame that I'm going to release in a few days. It's open for suggestions and means of improvement.

1. By pattern count (>80), this is my most complex song. (80 patterns! 3 minutes! That's like, a unique pattern every 3 seconds or something! OMGERD!!)
2. I pulled out all the stops here.
3. I really start to understand how people can get lost in songs... how they can spend tons of time on them... I certainly start to wonder how I ever wrote a song in an hour or two, that seems impossible now.
4. I may... or may not... or MAY... have been inspired from a certain game who's title consists of 5 letters that are all the same.
5. I included little bridges, which are fun - switch the chord prog, bring down the volume a little bit, toss in some weird fx...
6. Only 3 re-renders before uploading... I must be losing my touch.

Enjoy!

Retro-Gamer returns!
LOL! BRiLLiAnT piece you have here, and 80 patters?! Holy hell man, TALENT!
The bridges? Where?! You can't even really pick up on them since everything flows soo smoothly, and the 3 renders you had to execute for the finishing touch shouldn't be a concern at ALL!

2:20 - 2:30 sounded like the GOOD ending from bubble bobble there for a second! (yes, im a hardcore retro gamer... PlayNes ftw :3 )

What I wish you could have done was change up your mainline a little, as the pattern is excessive, but I guess that is what you were aiming for here...and ONE thing that gives this a perfect 5 in my books is how FLAWLESSLY you made it loop! That isn't always easy to do from my understanding.

johnfn responds:

Thanks for the review. I'm not sure how I missed this one. I think you're right about the repetitiveness. I may go back and vary it up a little more :)

That sounds cool. I like modern sounds mixed with 8bit sounds.

johnfn responds:

Thanks! The style of modernizing 8 bit sounds is called 9 bit, in case you were curious.

This song exploding my mind!!! :D (in a good way)

johnfn responds:

Mwa ha ha. Once all ze minds are blown, we move on to the second stage of ze operation!!

The beat is kind of funny sounding. I would suggest maybe tweaking it a little.

The glitching is such a nice touch to the song too as well! As if i am taking an adventure through somewhere. 1:30 the kick needs to be a little more prominent or punchy.

That is all i can find out for now. Are you going to be extending this or is this the final product here?

johnfn responds:

The beat was something i realized was screwed up, but forgot to fix. i'm working on writing down whenever i notice something is wrong.

The kick i turned down right at the end, it was kinda hurting my head when it was louder. Maybe I can fix that...

I will probably tweak this, but I don't see myself extending it much longer.
