My entry to NGMT round 1. Monochromatic feel is what I aimed to. The instruments were limited to 4, so I didn't make any drums. Sounds a bit cinematic TBH :p. Amazing what 4 instruments can do. My instruments of choice: Music box, slow string section, synth bass (named steel bass), grand piano.
Also, I've got a lot of critic about the sudden end. I exported it as loop, and didn't realize it actually couldn't loop in the contest :/ Oh well, at least it loops now
The reviews I got from other contestants (Sorry, I didn't leave an essay there, not this time at least :/. And yes, I'm copying SourJovis with this form :p I doubt he'll mind):
Bassfiddlejones: Decent composition - the reverb was distracting. There was a lot going on in the piece, cuts off abruptly. Maybe that was intended?
Deflektor: Good composition, but maybe there was a bit too much reverb. There is a good deal of variety, which is a good thing. It fits the theme well enough, but why the hell does this piece end so abruptly ?
alternativesolution: This one is very nice sounding. Unique composition, and just very nice overall. I like it a lot. But again.. ending?? What happened? Unfortunately, this one seems to exhibit heaps of color.
DivoFST: Sounds really good and fitting, sometimes sounds a but muddy
Neon-bard (you, track 3, got my vote BTW :p): The first thing that popped into my head was a cavern covered completely in ice, so I immediately thought of pale blue, and blue-green colors. At times I caught a sense of the theme, but I can't shake the image of walking around in an ice cavern. The conclusion was abrupt. Nevertheless, this is an interesting piece that I really enjoyed listening to.
frootza: Very cool concept for a song. I believe a different instrument choice would have given the song a darker feel, as the xylophone sounded pretty bright. Enjoyed the variation, and especially the walking bass line that enters the track. The panned delays gave it a psychedelic vibe.
SourJovis: Great main instrument. Beautiful piece. The string sections I like less. Not real enough. Perhaps that's too because it wasn't allowed to make each note more individual. The song sounds distorted when it gets louder. The ending doesn't sound like it's supposed to be that way. Quite a stately sound. I enjoyed listening to it.
PeterSatera: This is good, It feels like im in a 90s movie or something, it has a hint of horror too, i dont know if that was intentional. I think the piano's delay was abit distracting, and too powerful. The track becomes quite full though and does end abruptly.
Chongo: Okay, so the song starts out really nice, the bell sound and the strings working out very nicely and sounding splendid. It went somewhat downhill when the piano came in, which sounded like the pianist was stuttering with his fingers. Aside from that, a nice piece

Oh, yes. As a loop, this works very nicely. A tiny stutter, but that might be intentional? That explains the sudden cut-off; perhaps we should look into accepting submissions You've got a really chill, wintery atmosphere. I suppose after a few more listens, the only color that really sticks out is blue. Your piano gives this a very watery feel, too.
I like that bass sometime after 2:00. Your bass in the whole piece actually sounds very unique, in terms of composition.
Your mix does sound a little muddy on the low end - I think this is from the reverb on the bass clashing a bit with the low strings you have in the background. Strings were, by the way, mixed well. As for the composition, I feel like some notes clashed toward the end, especially.
That tiny buildup before 1:10 was good. I really like the part that came afterward :D This sounds like perfect video game music, really - but especially right there. Something you got about the chords going on, I suppose. You just have some very good melodies here, and they all sound really pretty, and mysterious, especially.
Your transitions are anything but showy, and I think there are a few instances in which there isn't any kind of transition at all - but it works, because each measure just blends in rather smoothly with the next. Your instrument use is also fantastic, by the way.
So what can I say...I like this one a lot. I hope you plan to submit for round 3! c:
The abrupt end was kind of my fault. It was not unclear that SoundCloud was used, and I was well aware it doesn't accept loops. It just didn't cross my mind D: Oh well
Thanks for the wall of nonse... I mean, feedback :o Points noted
And yes, I do plan on submitting to r3, provided that I won't be tired out by real life :G
