This is a bit more spooky, I like it though. You're playing with atmosphere and I LIKE it
This project was made in about 5 days in May 2017 in Logic Pro X. It's my weird ambient entry to Johnfn's NGCHIPS audio contest (http://www.chipscompo.com), which you all should totally do next time (it seems like it's going to be a fairly regular thing). Inspired by the theme of an "abandoned world," I imagined the sole survivor of an apocalypse trying to get in touch with, well, anyone who is still left. Hope you enjoy!
LYRICS:
This is day 512 of the apocalypse. If anyone's still out there, I'm at 3843 Somerset Drive, Durham, North Carolina. Please - I'm waiting for you.
This is a bit more spooky, I like it though. You're playing with atmosphere and I LIKE it
Thanks so much, SensoryDecay! Yeah, spooky is definitely what I was going for. :D
The beginning pads here had me thinking at first, "Oh my, how peaceful and relaxing! I'm guessing the feel behind this is 'Hey, don't worry about what you can't solve. There's always another day.' " Then the voice part came in, so I scrolled down to read your track's description. My next thought; "Oh! Got it. Interesting."
So, I'm listening to this for the second time as I leave my review. I visualize a guy surviving on his own somewhere on a very hot day... I really like the pads you've inserted throughout. Really nice. Also, I'll add that's an interesting choice for a base there. Everything fits nicely.
Ahhh, and now it sounds kinda eerie towards the end. Very good for an ambient piece.
Thanks so much for the review! I really appreciate your compliments, especially on the mood/theme and instruments. I guess I consider ambient my specialty. You should totally do the next chip contest! There's one going on now: http://www.chipscompo.com/compo/3
Well, you know I like ambient stuff :D
I was able to guess correctly on who made this during the contest, so you definitely have a clear style to call your own ;)
I love the bass in the middle section, and it actually does remind me of the Crash games hehhe :p
I hope I'll make something for the next competition too, though I have some final Uni work to finish up first. Good job!
Thanks so much, LSD! Your piece was excellent as usual, you know. ;)
