This podcast was produced with a melange of new and older productions, the opening track, Comfort, was born after experimenting with Ableton Live on an electronic music production academy, the keyboard is a Lounge-Lizard VST that emulates pretty closely the tremolo of a Fender Rhodes, the grit of the keyboard overdriving can be really felt when the keys are played with a high attack. The song, as many of my productions, presents a luminiscent picture at first that eventually erodes leaving place to a darker atmosphere. With a questionable degree of success the song's groove mixes with the following, Bassline In The Lobby, a song that explores both house and trap soundscapes with a very agressive tone. Bassline In The Lobby was produced for a music academy song contest but my effort was not crowned with success, however the track was first heard live on a roadtrip to Carmelo, Uruguay and since then has recieved positive reviews, I sure look forward to producing more tracks of this type. By this point the piece has gained an acceptable amount of momentum and the third track makes way with an outstanding polysynth lead. Introvert was a groundbreaking song, it gave me a refreshed notion of mixing levels and modulation techniques, I was actively looking for a progressive-house type of song and was inspired by a particular song by Mike Hennessy called Imagine Reality, I remember hearing that guitar arpeggio on the breakdown and saying, I want to make a song with this exact same emotive charge, so I made Introvert. I get the feeling that I'll be playing this song as a dj and feeling really proud of it. It's 22:00 now, and the tempo has risen quite steadily to a house-type beat, but the following track I had in mind was quite a shart turn so I decided the best thing to do would be to wrap it up and start all over, there's no shame in doing so. The contrast works fairly well, the listeners ears have been warmed-up for 20 minutes and are ready for the fast-paced tempo of In The Lobby. Yes, this song was inspired by the latter, Bassline In The Lobby when in the remastering process and trying to add a vocal layer. All I managed to get was In The Lobby, but it was such a powerful sample that drove me to producing a new song from scratch, and here it is, I think it's techo, I think. Wrapping up the 40 minute mini-set is Gripe (199X Remix), the third track in an EP by the same name with three remixes by Ben Japon, Kurt Godel and yours truly, 199X. This one has industrial elements that groove on a slow pace that's why I saved for the end, as a cool-down piece. Yeah, the mixing between the last two might be dodgy but mathematically speaking, it works, 140 to 70, that makes sense right?
Anyway here it is, seven-teen, enjoy it, or not, do whatever you want, but now that you're reading this you might as well leave some well appreciated feedback.
