This is my entry for the February NAC. I'd been thinking what kinda song I should make and then I listened to some Rundgren and thought: THAT'S IT! That's a cheesy love song. So basically I tried to smuggle some of the classic Toddisms into my song whilst still maintaining my staple techniques. ;p This resulted in a retro popsoul ballad. BTW I had to submit this real quick because I've got like a trillion other projects to do (including DoD).
TECH-BABBLE:
In addition to the vocals, I used live bass and lead guitar plus custom recorded drum samples off my kit in my bedroom for this song specifically. I know my drums sound very 70s and I hope they fit this style pretty well.

This is a great composition! The instruments and sound fit the genre very well and the dominant vocal track works. It really feels like something that could be found on an early 70s rock album.
As for the vocal track, there seems to be some pitch artifacts that break the otherwise genuine feel of the song. I would recommend refraining from any pitch correcting tools for this style.
I am hoping to see more like this!

Really nice composition CzySzy, and great pick of instruments! I especially love the chords on the rhodes. Very mellow slowdance type of stuff! I love the effects on the vocals too, though I've got to say the lyrics aren't especially sappy to me. I should add that the energy of the vocals are a little jarring in a song of this composure. I'm thinking that may be caused by the autotune but I'm really not sure. It's a little sad because I feel this song could be really emotional otherwise. That being said I love the melody you've got going and that solo in between is really nice as well. Good stuff. I can't deny that it's been stuck in my head for some time now.
SUPER CHEESY! I love it! This perfectly fits every rule and aspect of this February NAC, and I honestly couldn't find anything wrong with it, except maybe the autotune effect on the vocals at times, but even that fits perfectly for this. Very impressive instrumentation, Czy! You definitely have my vote! 5/5
Thank you, sir. Yeah, I do sometimes play around with my vocals by flexpicthing them slightly to get a softer voice.
