This is my entry for the 2019 Epic Battle Fantasy Music Contest. The original is a Techno/Rock fusion that was created as battle music for EBF3, and I have attempted to do justice to Phyrnna's artistic vision while putting my own personal spin on it.
I've really enjoyed playing through the series over the years, and I may actually like swords almost as much as Matt. It's been really cool watching the games evolve over time, from their inception on Newgrounds a decade ago, to their current releases on Steam.
Here's to the next 10 years of EBF!

This track came instantly to mind, and it seemed like a fun one to tackle for the contest, so here I am. A bunch of interesting ideas rose to the fore, and I decided to let them run wild while also attempting to adhere somewhat to the original vibe.
I think things worked out pretty well overall, but yeah...while it's not quite a solid brick wall of sound, it can totally benefit from a quick twist of the volume knob. It feels both classic and fresh to me, and it puts a big smile on my face to know that you like it.
I truly hope that life has been good to you over the years! Thanks in part to the soundtracks you've written for the Epic Battle Fantasy series, I believe that you have already cemented your musical legacy, and that's undoubtedly awesome. May the future bring you even more success and the realization of countless dreams.

Wow, this sounds great! I can imagine finding that hi-hat was a struggle, yeah. Glad to see there's a lot of good remixes made from this competition, I can't even be mad if I don't get in the top 3- There's going to be awesome pieces like this one to listen to regardless! I love the chords on the FL Slayer, I could never get those to work for me but you seem to have a real talent for it.
Thanks a bunch, TheFirel! I really appreciate the review. Yeah, there's always gotta be at least one instrument that doesn't want to play well with others, and I think hi-hats tend to be the biggest offenders.
True enough, there's some seriously stiff competition for this contest, but the most important thing is that we had fun working on our tracks and that there's a lot of great EBF music on offer. As long as the listeners are happy, our work here is done. The possibility of prizes is a really nice bonus incentive, though.
FL Slayer definitely takes some getting used to, but I cut my FL Studio teeth on it back in 2013, so I've had quite a bit of practice. The Hardcore plugin also comes in handy for tweaking the sound somewhat.

Digging this remix overall. The FL Slayer guitar reminds me of early 2008 - 2011 audio content and games I would spend a lot of time listening to or playing for hours. While the remix is great, not too sure why but the hi-hat feels off for some reason to me. It feels more like the hi-hat should be a less electronic sounding hi-hat if that makes sense.

Hey, thanks for the review, NekoMika! I really wanted to keep that classic sound, at least to some degree...it's just so nostalgic. Finding a hi-hat that I was satisfied with was quite a struggle for this, actually. Even when I finally settled on this one, I still felt conflicted, so I went through all the options again. It was a really annoying journey that just led back to the same hat, so in the end it was acceptance that won out. lol
It would be awesome to take one of those coveted top 3 spots, that's for sure! But there's a lot of fantastic competition already, and hopefully a few more entries still in the works. ^__^
