Brings me back to those good old Sega days. It's good to see people who are still developing what the past held up to. It's a nice melody and it's chill too. I like it!
I had asked TwelfthChromatic for a MIDI sequence of Evening Road. He provided it. I did a terrible job.
This is a second go around with that MIDI sequence, sticking to the original a bit better, as well as using authentic sounding plugins and not taking a ton of shortcuts. I hope this is much more pleasing to your ears than my previous render of this wonderful composition.
More stuff: I've been digging deep into the sound driver of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and it has really opened my eyes to what the SEGA Genesis can do in the hands of a competent chip programmer. For instance, not only can FM channels change panning (left, right, center), but apparently individual operator Total Levels (as well as the entire setting) for any channel can change. Before digging deep, I was under the impression that only channel 3 (the FM channel used for SFX) could do this. I type this to explain why you hear so many different sounds throughout before you tell me I'm way past my channel limit, because obviously these different sounds don't play at the same time (because they can't).
Oh, wait, I forgot to mention that this is SEGA Genesis music. lol

ok, this is catchy af
Wow, this is really awesome! Thanks for remixing this again :) I can definitely hear the improvements!
Dude, you are making absolute fucking magic. No words. Genesis music with nice modern sounding compression applied. Leads could probably come down .1 dB but other than that, perfect.
this is pleasant
