An energetic piece in E-flat Major, which recurs on four chords (IV, V, I, vi) and has some polyphonic melodies in various instruments. Later on, it segues, and plays the same tune in different key signatures and textures. The midsection is a calm and tranquil part in G-flat Major, made to convey the tombstone's pondering moments outside the ballroom. Afterwards, the main theme returns and eventually brings the piece to an ending.
