Here's a beat in development that I'm working on, just a fun bouncy deephouse track. Really digging the bass layering on this one.

Just barely missing the mainstream sounding mastering mark. Maybe could use more side-chaining.

ktgen responds:

ayyyyy thanks man, I did a rough mix and master total time spent = around 2 hr. I already have sidechain almost maxed out so I think my problem might lay within my sloppy mix.

Hey, I love where this is going! Hope to see a complete thing soon so I can drop that final half star ;)

ktgen responds:

hey thanks a lot bro!!!!! Appreciate ya :)

Interesting! Sounds promising. I really like the bass but the deep part is a bit too loud for me, it almost drowns out the mid and high frequency sounds, i couldn't really listen that loud because of that, feels like you either need to mix all levels better to match the current bass volume, or decrease some of the deepest bass frequencys so you can hear everything else clearer and have more contrast. Other than that great work! :)

ktgen responds:

hey man, appreciate the constructive criticism. I did a rough mix and master and noticed i pushed up the maximizer knob a little too high/tight. But i'll def lower the sub and sub layers to let the high mids push through more. i'm used to making dubstep so I usually crank up the lower level pretty high. Gonna have to sweep through my stems a bit more.
