Yes, for the uninitiated, Cancer is a star sign, first and foremost. Obviously, what the name is better known for is incredibly sad, so I tried to capture that spirit as best I can. I'm lucky to have never had any experiences with cancer, the disease, itself, so the point was to capture the grieving and depression (the clean riff), the anger (the distorted riffs), and the confusion (the breakdown). I made a few educated guess, but I think the song turned out great!

I have also been sitting on the clean lick for a long time. I don't know how I came up with it, but it remains as, possibly one of my greatest licks. I only wish I'd found a place for it sooner, but I learned that often the best ways for a song to go is in the direction you least expect, so, how it ended up, I never imagined would be the way for it to go. Hope you enjoy the song! :)
