in theory, yes it would work.
Your feet would provide a surface to stand on, but it would be damn funny to see someone fall through portals endlessly. Once they reach terminal velocity shoot a portal straight down at the base of a cliff, see if they make it to the top
The redesign happened, now my signature doesn't match anymore.
It would be hard considering your center of balance is between the portals and you are trying to keep your feet still. It is still possible though.
