Wow at the Wii numbers. 2 Million in a month...that's just unfathomable. Coupled with DS sales of 1.57M, Nintendo is looking pretty good. Microsoft did well, with 836k unites sold, and Sony...well, I guess that's what happens when you aren't priced competitively.

It's also sad to see Wii Music selling decently and LBP not in the top 10.

I agree, its amazing to see so many over-rated games in that list.

The Wii is something that almost every family I know has - other than my grandpa, who has a ps3, he's off the chain.

But honestly, i'm not at all surprised by those figures, other than the psp selling more than the ps3.

Software-wise, the PS3 had a fine year, I would say the best of any console. Sales are really unimportant to the consumer as long as third-parties continue to develop multiplatform. Anyways, up to the 360 price drop, the PS3 consistently outsold the 360, so I think it's really just a matter of Sony dropping the price of the PS3 to again start selling the most number of consoles. I really don't see the 360 getting a price cut for a very long time.

Remember last generation when console sales reflected the quality of software released? Yeah, those were good times.

The 360 v.s. PS3 sales have been brutal the past few weeks. The gap in the Americas between the PS3 and 360 is nearing 8 million, more than it was when the PS3 launched. Of course Nintendo is a monster. I have been watching these sales closely week by week and saw these NPD sales earlier, can't say I wasn't surprised.

And the PS3 isn't losing money in the sales anymore since 2007 if any of you idiots knew.
They took out the Emotion chip that gave Backwards Compatiblity and saved almost 75% of what it costed to produce a ps3.

You know what you are? Wrong. Whenever it shows your BMI, there's a large button to press that says "Weight" on it. You know what that button does? It shows your weight in pounds. Wii Fit is a good product. It has some fun games and helps people stay fit. Nothing wrong with that. It's not like Wii Music, where they compromise a fun experience to appeal to babies.

There's also the Team ICO project, which will be a 2009 or 2010 title.

I'm just laughing at how Halo 3, a game that has been out for more than a year, which wasn't even in the top 5 games list for 2007, which is a mediocre pile of shit to a lot of people, has STILL got more players playing on it than all of the people playing on PSN altogether. The same applies to Call of Duty(s) and Gears of War(s).

Another thing is that less than half of the Xbox owners are active on XBL, as opposed to 80% on PS3.
