I hate to squeeze the juice out of the lemon known as Sonic the hedgehog. But I'm rather perplexed by the sheer carelessness sonic team has shown us TRUE-BLUE sonic fans. The veteran fans of which survived the wars against the ever-illusive mario. The ones who hoped to overcome the near apocalyptic game that was 'shadow the hedgehog'.... I've played nearly all sonic titles myself.

If you can describe yourself as a fan of such calibre, then I honor your undying service to the elite. But if you're one of the noobs hooked up on the era of Sonic X, Heroes, Unleashed (werehog), Next and Secret Ring spinoffs then you're apparently too young to understand who and what Sonic was in essence. Sure, we all know he's fast and super cool, but were you there when the Freedom Fighters had to infiltrate the deepest, coldest metallic cores of Robotropolis just to prevent entire continents of species from being wiped out by the infamous Dr. Ivo Robotnik (Eggman). Also, they weren't ALWAYS victorious?

If you have any ideas on the improvement of his series, (T.V./Game) I'd like to read upon your opinions.

I will admit, Sonic is an excellent character, but his recent games have pretty much sucked. Sonic Team needs to step down and let another company take it's place as the creator/commissioner of the Sonic games, or pull it's act together and pull their heads out of their asses.

Hell, some of us have ideas for games of the franchise that are so extremely deep and awesome, that they would make even the most avid hater of the series want to get it. But most of the time, this is not the case.

These games need serious improvements like spending at least an entire year on their development, and having extremely deep storylines and plots to them that can be classed as truly epic. I mean, how else do some other games (a la Fallout 3, Dead Space, Mass Effect, etc) succeed so brilliantly? Excellent gameplay (Fallout 3), extremely innovating (Dead Space), and epic storylines (Mass Effect), or any combination of the 3, as well as intensive testing to perfect it.

Now, granted, I'm not a true-blue Sonic fan, simply an enthusiast of the series, but I also am a true-blue hardcore gamer, and I know the qualities that a good game needs from experience. The franchise needs a good kick in the ass to get it going strong again before it dies from lack of care.

And that is pretty much my statement at this point.

The Best years of my life were from 1989 to 1998. Sonic The Hedgehog was everything to me... I was so upset when Sega said they would no longer be making consoles! (Sega Of Japans' fault). I practiced playing Sonic 2 so much that I can now beat the first act of zone 1 in 25 secs. it's crazy! I loved both tv shows 'Sonic The Hedgehog' and 'Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog.'

If you watch the end of Sonic The Hedgehog tv series than you notice that it ends with a cliffhanger. I always wanted to see that jump another part of the story!

I've also always wanted a game based of of the show. like a platformer, create a whole planet. Planet Mobius! Create Robotropolous, the swamp, nuthole, etc... If they tune the movements and animation it could work!

You don't have to be a total fan, but for the sake of gaming I understand you entirely. I was starting to think I was alone in this though, well composed games in general have been placed onto the back burner for the sake of casual audiences. Those fans are indeed the culprits behind the true gamers demise of inadequate titles. Soon, the only form of gaming left will be the equivalent of a 'television picnic' if the developers keep focusing on the casual consumers. While I understand what you're attempting to prove. Explain to me why SSBB (Smash Bros.) exists today with an ESRB rating for teens. It's a fighting game based to please the long time fans of various series' originally meant to please kids age 2-8. Also, if the developers meant for him to purely be a child's play toy, then they wouldn't have produced relatively hardcore story-lines previous games...

Sonic Adventure 2 is a prime example. Also, Sonic Chronicles, and Shadow The Hedgehog ( WARNING: horrible game) to a lesser extent show the possible depth of the franchises universe. Might I add games such as Ratchet & Clank, and Jak & Daxter could also be deemed as childish, yet they retain their place among many adult players.

It's called Knuckles and a crap-load of other 'extra' characters just waiting to make the story of the game longer... Not to mention possible 2p modes. The story could just as easily be juiced up by saying more about each characters individual history. And why does sonic always need to be "balanced" in the main story-line anyway? They could have created different modes of play, Adventure modes being for those who like exploring, and a Classic mode for those who'd like to keep up the pace. While both modes would harbor the same story simultaneously.

Don't misinterpret this as an agreement with Unleashed. The central idea is to open the world of sonic that already exists around him, instead of shoving new characters/morphs (werehog) one after the next until everyone has lost the concept of plot. They haven't built strong foundations on the history of the chaos emeralds, the forgotten 'super' chaos emeralds of which made HYPER sonic. The connections between Knuckles and the master emerald are rather vague, not to mention his tribe? Also the fact that knuckles himself can also transform with the chaos emeralds.

This is important, but the focus for the developers is to pace their games accordingly with greater variety. Much like the Sonic Adventure series, which was going great until Sonic Heroes came along and DESTROYED the unfolding plots of previous games. I personally enjoy vast hub-worlds with shops, and sub-missions that gradually tie into the plot of the main game. I'm thinking of something like a speedy RPG if you will. It's very difficult to illustrate such things with words alone...

They would have used the space not used for werehog for more daytime stages, making it last for more than an hour and a half.

I honestly couldn't find any problems in the Werehog gameplay other than the stupid medals, which are in the daytime stages anyway, and the "OMG AN ENEMY" thing that played every 5 seconds.

From now on, the song "Stupid MF" will play in my head for all of your replies. Don't ever label me as some other Sonic fan. I didn't like the werehog because of the delayed controls and stiff movement, a very credible reason to dislike it.
