RE5 control differences 2009-02-05 00:30:52

Could someone remind me how RE5's controls for movements and turning (non-stafe, types A and B) are different from RE4's controls? I sold my copy of RE4 a year ago, but as far as I remember they had a small learning curve and then became comfortable. Yet, RE5 feels.. clunky?

(On a side note, RE4 is one of the greatest games ever. It, and a couple of games listed in my sig, helped shape up long periods of my life better than any other type of entertainment could.)

Maybe because RE4 and RE5 are on different systems.

This post will actually appear at the bottom of this page.

Same controller though. Wouldn't be too difficult to just port the old controls over.

You r character tends to seem a tad slower when you're fighting a fuckton of angry black people instead of a handful of old Spaniards.

Type A is identical to RE4 except for one thing:
FIRE and RELOAD have switched place. something that get very annoynig if you are a RE4 veteran.

I was really flustered by the demo, the control type could be changed to be almost identical to RE4, but the switch between the fire and reload buttons was very annoying. Also, having to switch weapons and manage your inventory solely in real time was pretty hectic as well.

But I think it just takes some time before you can get used to it.

I kind of like the real time menu, it's a lot more fun when you're with a friend freaking out try to switch to the grenade than when you could spend 10 minutes playing with your briefcase while the zombies waited around. Without the co-op though, it would be unmanageable.
