Hey yall, In the past we have seen some perspective threads (all dead for over 2 years now) so I thought I'd make a new one.
Post your perspective based art here, ask questions, give feedback.
Please mention what perspective you used/ wanted to use (1-5 point).
For those who do not know where to start (tutorials):
1 point perspective
2 point perspective
3 point perspective
Multiple point perspectives (4/5/6)

And here's my starter: 5-point perspective.

Three point perspective is something that i'm not very good at, I don't really have much of a grasp of it.
Please could youshow me how to draw a TPP road? With the road markers getting further away and such.
Also, in a sort of Artistic style which I could put on a canvas nicely.

Much appreciated.

Ooh! that's dandy looking, im going to have to give this style a shot.

p.s. 900th post

Since we already see the world in three dimensions, I started wearing 3-D glasses around so that I could see things in 6-D... The sixth dimension is blurry and discolored.

Well, for a road, you would typically just use a 2-point (or even 1-point perspective), since it is mostly flat (road signs being about 2 meters high. Three point perspective would be use for large buildings (or perhaps smaller buildings if you take a higher/lower viewpoint). If I have some time I'll make an example for you.

It's a nice kind of art, but using premade lines as help? That's not necessary.. You just need to have a sense of perspectives.

true, but just like with anatomy, you can draw bones, and then add muscles, and finally the skin, Or you can just draw a figure without the underlying anatomy.

You should probably develop an eye for perspective, but it needs to be developed. Use those premade lines helps you develop that sense.
Also, a five point perspective is difficult to do if you don't know how to, since it is not how you see things.

So basically I was over complicating it?
Thanks man.

Agreed, I draw my backgrounds in a skewed prespective like this all the time, and it has tons of errors and inconsistencies, at times it works other times I have to rework it, so it definitely helps when you know you can draw up some lines to help your structure
