I'm basically looking for your run-of-the-mill horror movie/game music, nothing out of the blue. About 3-4 theme all around 2 mins minimum (no longer than 4) each. Essentially, if you play any of the Residents Evil's or Dead Space you'll know what I'm looking for but I'll try to outline my thoughts a little clearer-
INTRO THEME
-To go with slow menu fade in. Dramatic, edgy ,should evoke curiousity- tells a story before you even know what the game is about. Lots of strings, voilin/cello. Should sound akin to-
RESIDENT EVIL OUTBREAK
maybe at a stretch-
REANIMATOR
Without the cheesy drumbeat.
Because the next two are the main themes running through the game, they can't be TOO melodic, they also have to feature certain sounds not used in conventional tunes, wind, rain, voices. The tune has to be more about ambience than melody.
-FIRST SECTION
You've just woken up in everyones worst nightmare, you're covered in bandages, recovering from some kind of drugging, you don't know where you are but it's a dark, fearful place. Actually might have this one already filled.
-SECOND SECTION
-Getting deeper into the game now. You've learned a lot of secrets about 'The House' and it's owner , it's getting later on in the day, nerves are frayed, so what we're trying to do is create some deeper tension, jumpy atmosphere of despair and ominousity.
Again, not sure exactly what I want but this theme definitely contains some of that:
THE DESCENT
-BATTLE/SUB GAME SECTIONS
-Fast, pulsating grinding, heart-beats. Same as the boss music in any of the RE games.
-MUSIC BOX
Ideally-
PUPPET MASTER
Very simple music box loop. 10-20 seconds long is fine. You know, carnival music. Kind of cutesy but also has a measure of depth to it, sticks in your head, hypnotic. Ummm.Shadows 2, slower, with only the symbols?
That or something like;
CODE VERONICA (SAVE ROOM)
Asking too much? You tell me ;-)
