Oh man, it would make the season for me. MLP really is something that I would love to see South Park parody, and I will laugh my ass off if it happened.

South Park became unwatchable years ago. I can't even tell people that I liked the show anymore, because it's embarrassing.

The new episodes are not overall nearly as good as the old ones, though some of the new eps are still really good. The pop culture parodies are not nearly as clever as they used to be, like that episode with the youtube memes, or the jersey shore episode, its all just caricatures and exaggeration whereas before they made witty episodes like that the day after tomorrow parody, or something wall-mart this way comes. now a lot of the episodes just have a lot of basic level jokes in them that are so obvious that they arent funny. next they will probably make a twilight episode where they make fun of how the characters sparkle and all the 13 year old pewdiepie fanboys will find it hilarious.
an example of a good recent episode would be "insecurity" where they parodied the dark knight rises but they didnt shove it in your face.
Regrettably, they've become flacid and unenjoyable.

It depends on the season, personally I felt that after 2004, the series would start the season slow before picking it up toward the end of first half or somewhere around the second.
Generally when the episodes doesn't cover the current events, they're really good like that wrestling episode and the one about WOW.

Part of me agrees with you, but I also think they've shown some restraint. They could have easily made an episode about My Little Pony or something similar, but they didn't. It's not always about parodying what's popular for them.

Or they take some petty annoyance of their own and think everybody will relate to it.
Like that Zip-lining episode. It's like they went on a bad outing and decided to make an episode about it.
Or the Pandemic episodes with the Peruvian Flute Bands.
They said in the commentary for the episode that they found out later that a lot of people had no idea what a Peruvian Flute Band even was.

I don't think the show has really gotten THAT bad. It's not Simpsons bad, or anything.
It's just sometimes lackluster in the way new Futurama was.
Even though South Park is not as good as it use to be, I still love how they can make fun of everything and it's always entertaining to watch.

Pretty much the same. I've always been a fan of the show but that was probably one of the worst episodes. Not the greatest start to a season. Though the Alec Baldwin stuff was pretty funny.
