Hello! I'm looking for a Mario impersonator for the character of Dr. Mario in a new animated parody of Wario's Woods. The roles of Wario and Birdo have already been filled (but if I can find a voice of Wario more like the original, then I'll swap him out for the new impersonator).
There are a few things that you must have for this, though:
FOR MARIO & WARIO
1. A normal-to-high-quality microphone and recording quality recorded at 48 kHz as a WAV.
2. The ability to emote outside of these characters' normal archetype. Dr. Mario isn't always happy, sometimes he's sad, sometimes he's mad. There is a lot of mortified screaming in this and I want it to come off as "realistic" for the character (example: "What would Mario say if he saw an actual dead body? What would Wario say if he got penalized for not paying his taxes on time like a good American citizen?")
3. Do a stereotypical Italian accent on top of that. But that usually goes without saying for Mario and Wario.
4. Have fun.
FOR OTHER CHARACTERS
As for the other voice overs! There will be several other roles in this movie, which can be done by a few voice actors assuming you are able to do more than one voice. The other characters are:
- Fuzz: Main character. I was thinking a sort of mid-American accent, mid-to-deep voice, just a regular-joe kind of guy.
- Spud 1: Minor character. Friend of Fuzz.
- Spud 2: Minor character. Friend of Fuzz.
- Girl Fuzz: Minor character. I was thinking a Minnie-type voice or a more romantic woman's voice.
- Doctor 1: Main character. A man in his 50's who has seen it all. The leader of the doctors.
- Doctor 2: Minor character. Another doctor, younger.
- Nurse 1: Minor character. Doctor 1's assistant. Has that kind of "Doctor! Doctor!" kind of voice, if you know what I mean.
- Nurse 2: Minor character. Another nurse.
- Intern 1: Minor character. A college student.
- Intern 2: Minor character. A college student.
The Fuzzes and Spuds are enemies from the SNES game Wario's Woods, by the way. Their appearance doesn't affect their voices (meaning just because they are small doesn't mean that they have squeaky voices).
For auditioning purposes, audio files can be MP3s.
I also want to know how you want to be credited once the animation is finished. Do you want your real name and/or your internet handle like for Twitter or something? Do you want a website link along with it?
