Here's something crazy: Newgrounds turned 22 yesterday! The automated Game and Movie Portal turned 17 on April 6th and the Audio Portal will be celebrating its 15th anniversary on February 13th, 2018.

Site News

We're just about good to go with our new file server, as mentioned in the previous news post.

Our Elasticsearch server is ready and we expect to test the new search with Supporters next week before we roll it out to everyone.

Then it's back to getting the new user pages out the door!

I've been cranking with with @JohnnyUtah, @Spazkid and @Oney on the Nightmare Cops demo that will be presented at San Diego Comic-Con later this month. Nightmare Cops will be a Newgrounds release but is being showcased in the Behemoth booth (#229) as part of the Behemoth + Friends showcase!

If you live near San Diego you should also check out the Fleet Science Center Game Masters Exhibition, where Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers will be on display with lots of other gaming history.

That system did exist before but it was scrapped. Art and Audio were, in the past, subjected to a Daily and Weekly 1st to 5th place. This system is untenable now because of how many bests there are in different genres that can be released simultaneously.

The 'original material' rule is great. No disrespect to Bowz but it would be a travesty if Doki's Cream lost out to another drop in the bottomless ocean of Skyrim parodies. Cream is surely up there as possibly the best submission of 2017 and one of the most memorable films of any sort I've seen in a while.

22 YEARS!... what a run, it just made me check the NG and Portal History pages; I guess they may not have as much priority right now, but it would be great to see a bit more of them and keep in mind how NG evolves through the 'internet ages'.
