Invisionfree Forums Gone

I hadn't noticed it at the time but invisionfree forums shut down last year. Some of you may remember they were a free forum hosting site. You could make a forum and rule it with your own iron fist. We had a number of offshoot forums in the early 2000's that were built on invisionfree. They're all gone now. I had tens of thousands of posts on dozens of old forums.

Any one else fondly remember creating your own forums because you got mad about how NG BBS was ran?

InvisionFree has now closed. All active forums were preserved, and all inactive/abandoned forums were granted a six month grace period to request a restore after the servers were taken down back in August 2018.

If you see this message, it means that you are attempting to visit an abandoned forum for which no restore request was made within the six month grace period.

Invisionfree sounds familiar, but I don't remember any forums on there. That latingrounds site that Oscar made was the big one that hosted a bunch of different forums like altergrounds. That's the one I remember that everyone went to skirt their bans and complain about the mods. 14 year old me and dontask were mods. Can't believe the place didn't stand the test of time lol. BTW, my old username is michelinman, it's good to see you around mal.

Oh and if your alternate forum didn't have a .tk address it basically didn't even exist.

Invisionfree was just like a free template and hosting service so I think the old Red Bribe, CPO, The Alliance, latingrounds and a bunch of others used it. I only noticed it was gone because I still have latingrounds in my bookmarks and it had that message I quoted in the opening post.

I want to say there was another service that @aviewaskewed used for The Endless Crew forums that was very similar to what @format used for spasmbot but maybe they just had extra features.
