There's still time to re-evaluate that decision no? ;)

Hell yeaaaah 2021 finna start so much better than this one did! No @ link on Squidly in the donations list btw?
That @TheInterviewer interview sounds like an awesome bonus too!
And Congrats @MaximumNightmare! Solid showcase there!
And nostalgic entry of the day! Proud to have been partaking in most of these back when they were new; hope they keep getting rediscovered now. So much greatness/nostalgia/contemplation as to if they're more nostalgia than greatness sometimes or really do hold up as well as they seem to in the face of time... the format really does feel timeless.

There's time to learn! ;) Lotsa tutorials here: https://www.newgrounds.com/wiki/creator-resources/tutorials/flash-tutorials
...and more if you go searching here. Kirupa. ActionScript.org and FlashKit have plenty of resources, and there's a Game Dev forum too if you have a hard time with something specific: https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/forum/2
Never too late to start!

Sure thing. :) I'm pretty much still a novice myself but feel free to send a PM if you don't want to post a game dev thread on something too, might be good to really re-activate some of those dormant old AS2 know-hows...

Not sure. I have been spending this year learning new software and new languange script. So I might be better not touching flash (the ex wife) again. But I do welcome this flash movement. Hope the jam will be successful and maybe become an annual thing, like flash game day or something.

Ah that makes sense then, best prioritize the relevant work. Seems if you have that AS2 knowledge already acquired it might not take too long to throw something together for the jam regardless, but if you'd be putting your all into it and jamming for prizes... different story of course. :)
Maybe another year then! It'd be awesome if it does.
I shall be doing the flash jam thingy, I have added it to my bookmarks to try and remind me! And no, it won't be farting tankman.

Is there a way to export using AS2? My Adobe Animate doesnt let me select anything other than AS3.

Unfortunately not, CS5.5 was the last one with AS2 support.

Edit: nevermind, thought the 23rd meant the 23rd of December. Alright, so both are in January. nvm

Congrats to MaximumNightmare. Enjoy Drawing Tablet # 11.
Flash Jam sounds fun, and should be a great way to be creative.
I think this is the best time to finish up my Comic Reader app developed in AS2 and finally release it 🙌
How do we get ActionScript 2.0 on modern Adobe Animate programs? Or do you have to obtain the legal Adobe Flash free download?

Unfortunately Adobe Animate dropped support for AS2, so you need to use an older version of Flash.

Alright, also wondering, do you guys allow Flash Movies with interactivity? (I've already done one with AS3 but I'm guessing that's not allowed lol)

This week @Dungeonation made a big donation, asking us to host a Flash Jam. We’re still putting together some promo materials but the Flash Forward Jam is a go for January!
welp, guess I should make something
Question! Are fan games allowed or do you prefer more original content?
