Sorry I haven’t announced Pixel Day winners yet, a bunch of things were going on this week and I’ve been trying to gather feedback from judges before finalizing the results.
I also have a new computer coming because my PC is over ten years old, the graphics card is no longer supported and modern web games are getting harder to run properly, especially those Unity web games.
I’ve re-enabled Double XP for the remainder of February, vote on at least ten entries per day to log 20 XP! The Under Judgment movies and games lists have gotten backed up this week and need a push.
Reminder to people uploading: The Portals are intended for finished pieces. For animations in particular, imagine an audience in a theater is watching everything back to back. Will your unfinished walk cycle fit the vibe? This doesn’t mean your work needs to be amazing; it just needs to be more than a rough piece of something. Read our guidelines for more info.
Also, NG can’t host content with unlicensed commercial music, like songs from the radio. Please make use of our royalty free resources! It’s especially great when artists utilize the Audio Portal; you’re really missing out if you’re not getting to know some musicians here.
Today’s Featured Flash (without Flash)
It’s not running 100% perfect via emulation yet but Portal: The Flash Version is running pretty darn well. @Dragy2005 took the concept from Portal and put it in a platformer, with tremendous results. My review at the time said it may be my favorite game of the year and looking back at 2007, I feel bad that I said that just a few months after Newgrounds Rumble came out. They’re my likely top two, though!

HadenDA found himself in need of a new tablet at the start of this year and we were happy to accommodate.
At this time we’ve shipped out 60 tablets. There are a few recipients without much to show here on NG and a few who are adult artists, whereas I’ve been keeping these posts more PG. I have additional candidates on the list but I’m waiting for the tablet to go on sale again. I think we're nearing the end of these Tablet Giveaway / Featured Flash posts, although I'll continue featuring Flash off-and-on this year whenever a Ruffle update brings more classic content back on-line.

NG is hosting a Flash Forward Jam, making new interactive Flash creations to play via Ruffle. Over $2,600 in prizes!
It's not competing for a prize but I’ve been making a game with @JohnnyUtah, @Speedo and @l0litsmonica:
Disclaimer: It doesn’t actually play like Advance Wars. The game is pretty much done but we're tossing in a new playable segment for the ending. Expect it soonish!
The Best of January and Pixel Day winners are coming up next.
About the Drawing Tablet Giveaway
Newgrounds is hosting a Drawing Tablet Giveaway, inviting artists to apply for the chance to receive a drawing tablet. Applications are still open, however you must be US-based (tablets are sent directly from Amazon) and your chances will greatly improve if you have examples of your art or animation here on Newgrounds.
We’ve received generous donations from @Egoraptor, @AnonymousAlchemist, @SinclairStrange, @RonDMC, @SaucySaucepan, @Afro-Ninja, @Jonas, @NCH, @Sabtastic, @Squidly, @MSGhero, @Rarykos, @Gage, @Straqt, @kleinerjunge, @DevAesthetic, @NickSenny, @Zombie-Pimp, @Ronald-McDonald-LoL, @MrChambers, @53xy83457, @AKA-38CAUTION and @Wegra. As a result, this is our biggest tablet giveaway ever!
About Ruffle and Flash Preservation
Most of the content shared on NG nowadays isn’t Flash; you can share your HTML5 games and any sort of original animation you’ve made in video format, as well as art, music, voice reels and podcasts. As the original Flash Portal we continue to host both old and new Flash content.
Newgrounds sponsors the development of Ruffle.rs, to run Flash content in the browser now that Flash is no longer supported. Ruffle doesn’t run everything yet, which is why we have Newgrounds Player as a desktop fallback until it does.
Ruffle was created by @Mike as an open-source alternative to the Flash plug-in, free of all the legacy problems associated with Flash. Lots of smart people have gotten involved with the project and you can sponsor it with money or help as a Rust developer.
One Ruffle update this week fixed an iOS / Safari bug related to small fonts and broken tweens! If you ever played Pico on an iPhone and saw empty word bubbles, you should see words now.
