The only reason darksouls was hard is because of the janky controls, lack of direction, and general heaviness of the game. Slow moving animations and heavy armor with stupid mechanics doesn’t make a game hard so stop making games imitating this. Tired of the same 3 games being made… Darksouls copies, battle royales, and mobas. Make a unique game. Rant over.
Have you tried...
Getting Gud?
Dodge roll, hit, dodge roll, hit, heal, dodge roll. No getting good, just takes a lot of time. Why am I paying to not have fun?!
So your gripe lies with the combat in these games?
No, it lies with everything. Everything is HEAVY and CLUNKY. You cannot do anything without feeling like a bag of rocks. Mechanics are trash, the game is buggy, the game is super hard without a guide otherwise you bone yourself and are in the completely wrong area because the game doesn’t guide you in where to go ever. Just because a game is a clunky piece of junk doesn’t make it a hard game. I can play the game perfectly fine, HOWEVER the game is annoying and mistaken for hard by just being so tanky for no reason. Same goes for Monster Hunter. There’s no reason to have 13 different buttons to do one thing.
I mean.... the original Dark Souls... I can see some of those criticisms being valid...
I played Dark Souls III and Nioh and Bloodborne before playing the original Dark Souls.
Going from smooth and refined to an almost primitive version of a game in the same genre was definitely off-putting at first. My biggest complaint was the clunkyness of the combat. ...and I agree with you on that.
If you work at it, you will get better though.
...and if you are playing a more modern game released by From or a Soulslike, chances are... it will be nowhere near as clunky as the original Dark Souls was.
Can I ask you which games you've tried so far?
