@milkypossum released her MilkWorld album for free but you can also buy a copy on bandcamp to show your support. Milkypossum is hosting a Spooky Jam, inviting animators to use her song Trick Or Treat in an animation! An update to that post is coming with some prizes, as well.
@3lation has released their Hollow Earth EP as a Newgrounds exclusive and is inviting everyone to use it in their projects! If you enjoy @3lation’s music and appreciate this sort of resource, you can support them on Patreon.
Quick reminder: Newgrounds can't host content with unlicensed commercial music, so it's always best to use royalty-free music in your movies and games if you aren't paying directly to license a song. When browsing songs on Newgrounds, Creative Commons and general permissions info can be found below the song credits. If you don't see anything saying you can use the song in your work, please don't use it unless you have obtained permission from the musician. Also be sure to always credit your musician! Our Advanced Search options include an option to search by permission settings.
On the topic of music, if you made music for a Ludum Dare 49 game, tag it with LudumDare49! It's cool to be able to listen to all of the music that resulted from the jam, in addition to the games.
Ruffle Update
Newgrounds uses Ruffle to preserve classic Flash content in the browser. It was created by @Mike and now has a brilliant community of open source developers working on it. Today’s update introduces support for video, so those Flash movies where people squeezed a video into an SWF now work! Here are some examples:
Tiddlywank cycles through video clips randomly and could never have been properly preserved as a standalone MP4.
You can donate directly to ongoing Ruffle development via Open Collective. NG has been a Diamond Sponsor from the start but we're under the old Github Sponsors system, in case you're looking for us there!

With all the various events going on, I haven’t formally announced the Halloween Spooktacular this year. As always we’re hoping to see lots of spooky art, animation, games and music. If we took up donations for a prize pool, would any of you be down to chip in for that?
Best of September are up next!
