Getting freaky on a Friday Night.......
This is possibly the most iconic line in the main menu music for Friday Night Funkin.
But what made it so popular.
Why is the game so iconic?
Well, I'm here to answer those questions and more.
We already know the basics. Like music was made by phantomArcade. But do we really know the whole story. That's what I am here to explain.
Friday Night Funkin is a indie rhythm game created by ninjamuffin99, PhantomArcade, KawaiiSprite and a few others. It was submitted to game jam in 2020 on October 5th, which was the last day of the Ludlum dare 47 game jam event. We currently have 7 weeks in the game. With week 8 already in the works.
Now this was the beginning, but wasn't until the first fnf mod. The Whitty mod, that made fnf blow up in popularity, and with that popularity. Resulted in a lot of drama and controversy.
When The Tabi mod came out, people kept complaining about the song "Genocide", was a copy of " Ballistic ". This is where the fnf community would direct into more drama, hate, so on and so forth.
Take Mid-Fight Masses for example
This was a popular mod. Songs, story, charting and animation was all done by Mike Geno. Was popular at the time, hell, it's still popular.
But like every other mod. Drama would follow.
Now, granted this is my opinion, and only that.
I believe that the reason this stuff happens is because people are karens. But that is only a hypothesis of a opinion.
Overall, I really don't like the idea of hating on a single game or the mods surrounding it. But, who knows. Maybe this will blow over this year.
So let me hear your thoughts. Why do you think fnf is popular?
See you next time.
