I have just only learned about the existence of NG, tbh. But I feel it might be just the thing I have been looking for. I don't really have ambition to make a living with music. I just want people who are willing to give a shot to random, unknown art. I do have my music on Spotify and other platforms, but honestly, it feels like the algorithm works mostly in favor of established acts. NG seems like a community of creators, not just consumers, who are genuinely interested in being active on their own and diving head-first into a pile of random art with open minds, hoping to discover something they wouldn't otherwise find in other media platforms. Where I come from (Czechia), almost nobody can make a living by making original music. Crushing majority of musicians keep jobs on the side. It is mostly due to the size of the market - we only have 10 million people, now deduct the babies, the old people who are not that used to current platforms, and people who don't like your genre and you have a very small pool of people who migh be interested. On top of all that, I write songs mostly in English, not the best course of action in Czechia, I admit. I am ok with that. I feel like here, some folks might actually listen to and enjoy my songs and that is all I really care about. I just want my music to be someone's pleasant, unexpected surprise. If it is just 1 person in the world, it is worth it.

Soundcloud was the worst in that regard.

Happened exactly as described. Wasn't looking for it, wasn't planning it. Just happened upon a high-quality song by chance! I feel very fortunate to have found your music in this manner.

Better interactions honestly and more of a community feel. Soundcloud used to be my go-to for that until they got rid of groups and now it just feels like another corporate site honestly. Some bangers do still get posted there though, you just have to find them yourself instead of partaking in fun group circles now and it just feels like a very lonely site.

I started using Newgrounds literally because I wanted to use my music in Geometry Dash and that's it, but when I found out I can't do that, I decided to just upload some of my music here. I only know about Newgrounds because of GD, and I see this as the best way to upload music for now.
