Since last year’s Pico Day, we’ve enjoyed numerous events including the Summer Lovin' Animation Jam, Mobile Game Jam, Cult of the Lamb Art Contest, Big Boy Rumble Tumble Animation Jam, Chenso Club Art Contest, Halloween Spooktacular, Robot Day, Secret Santa, Pixel Day, Treasure Hunt, List Jam 2 , Clock Day, April Fools Clock Day and our third Flash Forward Jam.
There was a Toronto Meet and an Australia Meet. Artists came together for a Toonami Collab, Sketch Collab, Cute Cat Collab, Fushigi Reanimated Collab, Resident Evil 2 Reanimated Collab, Friendly Frog Collab and the Audio Portal's 20th Anniversary Collab.
Our games API got a big rewrite and introduced Cloud Saves. We added a new JS library for Newgrounds.io and the ability to look up medals and scores and to load save slots from other games, so devs can add cross-game perks. NG Radio was updated to support live shows and @TheNewgroundsPodcast team have put together a lot of great programming. Scouting was overhauled to be a simpler process. We introduced a new art viewer, allowing better browsing of hi-res art and pixel art. Artist news, Global Audio Options and Playlists all improved, along with lots of other little improvements and fixes throughout the site. Biggest of all is the impending Art Portal update, which almost made it ahead of Pico Day but is now right around the corner!
We’ve also continued our monthly sponsorship of Ruffle, which has brought a ton of AS3 Flash games back on-line so far this year. It’s important to retain our past, while building our future.
