how to do split screen phone talking

anyone have a clue on how to do one of thoughs split screen phone call animations, were the person on the other in slides into frame in animate cc?

Put your two separate animations inside Graphic Symbol containers each on its own layer and mask both.

I've used this technique in Flash to have at one point the screen split into 3:

I'd personally animate both sides talking separately and do the split screen thing in post-production. I always render my animations into png sequences and put them together in Vegas. If you want do do it all in an SWF I think it's doable via mask layers. I'm no expert on that topic though.
