With the remake out, I'm really curious on if it'll be people's first time or not.
I first played the game when it became available on the Wii back in 2008(?) Since it only came out in the US until that point.

I never played it before, I want to though, but I don't have the money and I already have a dozen other games I haven't touched or played yet.
Plus I'm half way through Paper Mario 64 and never beat Mario&Luigi yet.
Someday.
Take it with a grain of salt, I am slower than a snail.
It's a blast. I emulated it in highschool a ton but never finished it. I'd eventually beat it on my 3DS. Might eventually pick it up on the Switch. Save for a few vibe-check bosses the game's extremely easy, and now that they added this chain attack system that really inflates the player damage output, I'll probably have to play through the remake with weaker equipment for any semblance of a challenge.
There were a couple permanent missables in the original game but they added a postgame in the remake, so don't stress too much over any missed hidden blocks or frog coins.

I honestly want to play the remake so badly, it looks really good and I'm surprised Nintendo even acknowledged that game let alone made a full on remake of it.
I know right? It's like the original mario rpgs were like a taboo subject matter around nintendo where workers get beaten to death by miyamoto for saying the word Geno
Playing the remake does make me want to fire up the mini and play the original again sometime down the road

I played it when I was a youngin’ but it’s been long enough that it feels brand new again. They did a phenomenal job on it. First run I went with classic tunes, and then had to give it a listen with the modern setting.
10/10!

Yes, but does this remake have Princess Peach's ???
Gen Z here:
Haven't heard much about Super Mario RPG, aside from watching gameplay as a kid.
Im absolutely loving the game, it is filled with a lot of charm and personality. I still have the music stuck in my head and i really love it!

Yeah, it does. It’s basically the same game from top to bottom just with a few mechanical changes, additional post-game content, and some translations fixes and changes.
I played it when it was new. I am very old.
Once i've played it, but i got stuck at the beggining. And it was long ago, so, yeah, i would say between yeah and nah. Someday i'll fully play it and finish it.
I mean, i finished Superstar Saga, so yeah

If we're being honest, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga was the peak of mario rpgs

I've heard Seven Stars and Bowser Inside Story are peak, so yeah, i'm more interested in playing those. But yeah, Superstar Saga was neat too
i've started maybe 4 runs of the game over the last decade and never finished it despite getting closer and closer every time.
I emulated a ton of games in highschool and i remember that being one of the last ones I did before finally having a job and buying more games than i'll ever finish. I think I got to the sewers early on before putting it down initially?
when the snes mini came out I spent most of my time using that to play it.
I got pretty far, couldn't remember where exactly other than i was starting a dungeon in the clouds maybe?
now that the remake is out, and has added stuff to it I might turly abandon the snes mini run and go on in on that.
My first time was the Armageddon romhack. Honestly, felt pretty good, it definitely sounds like its a mega hard mode hack, but its not unless you want an alternate version of it and I had a lot of fun.
Everyone is an artist, if you've ever made art, you're an artist! :D
check out my comic here! or my silly joke one here!
I got the original around the time it came out.
I played Mario games but never an RPG Mario game.

Let me tell that I’ve played the original on the Wii U
Mario RPG wasn't even released in Europe so technically the remake is a new game in here. Not gonna play it though.
I just wanna throw this out there!
I love some of the music they remade in the Switch version, most I’m otherwise fine with. However, there is ONE song I’m devastated that they’ve botched in the remake! “Fight Against an Armed Boss”.
Might I ask one question to the producers of that song?… Where’s the bass!?
